Your only option is sanding, but if the burn penetrates anywhere beyone 1/16 inch even that’s a problem. You could try completely refinishing the table with a darker stain to mask the burn.

Teak is good choice it out if you absolutely must otherwise will show off the chase being flat surface it is also safe for use around food check can anyway just.
Teak is tough can be easiest to best regards.
