      No French Polishing is NOT appropriate for outdoors. This wood finishing technique is used mainly for acoustic guitars and is fairly easily damaged by moisture.

      The cost of wood varies, depending on your location. By and large, Teak would be the most expensive, cherry much less expensive, and oak much less expensive than that.
